Blade mistress...?
what happend to blade mistress again? where can i find it to go and play it? please tell me ><!!!

Techbear eventually sold it to that 'punisher' person and a lot has happened since and now everything is gone, practically up in a poof of smoke and disappeared. So you can't find it nor play it.

doh, i used to play BM n i was one of the higher end players too bad punisher dropped the game liek a bad habit /crys i sure wish bear would give it another chance :) actualy i pray dat teh gud n awsomes bear would give bm a second chance :p P.S. bm ez blademistress

Some crazed ex-Blademistress players have been trying to revive the game. Apparently, they are getting really close, but stumbling over a few things. It's been figured out that the client and the server are the same program, but not all of the data file formats are quite understood yet. People haven't puzzled out how to put the various dungeons back in yet, or how to make the Labyrinth work right. Note that this has been done with only the client files, and a bit of guesswork. (No one snuck in and stole Punisher's computer or anything, as far as I know) Don't suppose anyone here who knows (glances at Bear) would lend a hand on getting the game running once again? My g/f would be eternally greatful. :)

That is not what i recall. Punisher as far as i knew did not buy the game. From what i understand Bear even during the operation still owned the rights to BM. I'm still puzzled to this day why bear would let his work die when there were people willing to let it live. Granted most of the coding involved was still his (bears) intellectual property. Also BladeMistress was a server centric system. The client didn't hold the directives for placing the dungeons it accepted the info from the server for mapping and such. That was punishers invention.

well you see, the client and server are in the same executable, and if you pass it the magic command line parameter it runs as the server, and looks for the server side data files. More of the server data file formats have been reverse engineered now so dungeons, working lab and posses are now in, and my g/f is very happy. The witch quests and town mage gossip are still not yet figured out, and there are two servers that are internet accessible. The original server data is still only on punishers computer, but a new beginning has been started, and many of the old players are returning, and starting all over again, attempting to discover what the skill caps actually are. :)

All server data file formats have now been figured out. The community has triumphed and Blade Mistress lives once again. I wonder if Bear cares?

Really Zaphod? Howsabout some details? Such as, how to connect, if you're not just pulling our legs like a brat, how many people are playing, etc.

yeah the game is back up, been up for 3months now we are trying to contact bear because we want him to to give us the code to be able to fix all the bugs i think its called source code iunno bear if ur hear would u email me? miller_time8000an9 at yahoo.com @ instead of at, i heard that makes u get spammed lolies we also dont know if its ok, or not ok to advertise the game im not sure what bear thinks. bear can u tell us/me what u think about bm?

Since he doesn't own it anymore he can't give it to you. You need to dig up this 'Punisher' person and ask it of him.
